B.C.A. follows the National Curriculum Statement as stipulated by the S.A. Department of Education, using Learner-Teacher Support Material supplied by Accelerated Christian Education. Our learners start the day by setting their goals. They set the number of pages of work they believe they need to do for the day. This teaches productivity, time-management and goal setting. As they work, at their own comfortable pace, they are able to call the supervisor (educator) for personalized help. Learners are tested at regular intervals to monitor their progress. The pass mark is 80% in PACE tests (90% at foundation phase level) before they proceed to the next workbook (PACE). This is achieved with little stress and anxiety, as the child has repeated the particular concept 3 or 4 times before the PACE test.
Grade twelve
The progress of all learners in A.C.E. schools is monitored by means of continual assessment. Grade 12 learners also have the opportunity to write the National Senior Certificate (NSC) exams. A successful pass entitles them to apply to study at South African Universities.
Graduates
Bluff Christian Academy graduates have been accepted into various faculties at various tertiary institutions including the medical faculty at the Nelson Mandela School of Medicine, University of KwaZulu Natal, Durban.
